Documentation Translation
The linguists working for Studio Gambit are able to tackle almost all kinds of documents, be it:
- Technical documentation
- Product specifications
- Operating instructions
- Training materials
- Legal documents (agreements, warranties etc.) or
- Marketing brochures
In all cases, our mission is to provide translations that are accurate and understandable to
target readers, and at the same time to retain the original style of the particular type of document.
This may be achieved by deploying proven quality assurance procedures at all stages of projects.
The basics of our approach include:
People
Our translators are qualified and verified professionals knowledgeable in particular areas.
Senior staff responsible for final editing and proofreading of the worked-out materials have
proven their aptitude in similar projects. If necessary, a designated team of linguists can consult
specialists active in the field, priding themselves on the long-term expertise.
Processes
Compiling a glossary of terms for a project is a must. Translators can access the online issue
tracking forum moderated by project terminology coordinators. Side-by-side original/translation
comparison is performed. Camera-ready materials or output electronic files are thoroughly
reviewed with respect to layout and technical quality.
Technology
For more than 10 years Studio Gambit has been rendering translation services by means of
Translation Memory tools, thus preserving terminology consistency and stylistic integrity
throughout the entire documentation within the project. Additionally, this practice can
considerably lower the costs of subsequent jobs by enabling the re-usage of once translated sentences.
Depending on the client's requirements, Studio Gambit uses either SDL Trados, Idiom WorldServer,
Deja Vu, Transit or its own online multi-user TM server: SG Tiger 2. Whenever possible, we apply
automatic quality tests run by TM intrinsic features, commercial applications such as QA Distiller,
Help QA, HTML QA or our own SG Tools.
